American Cocker Spaniels
-
They are smart and eager to please, making them relatively easy to train with positive reinforcement, though they can be stubborn at times.
-
They are happy, good-natured dogs that love to be with their family, often described as "life of the party".
-
Highly attentive and people-focused, they don't like being left alone for long periods and can develop separation anxiety.
-
While happy to lounge, they enjoy playtime, fetch, and activities like agility, and need exercise to prevent obesity.

Life Expectancy: 10-14 years

Grooming Needs: Depending on your desired cut cockers can need regular grooming. They have a long hair coat that will need to be trimmed short or brushed often to prevent matting. While they do shed, it is normally a medium amount of hair (not quite to the level of say a labrador or shepard).
